Cuba is an amazing island in the Caribbean Sea. As an island, there are thousands of beautiful beaches all along, but the Cubans say proudly that the most incredible beach in the world is here: Varadero Beach.

A seaside resort of 20 Km. long with the most beautiful beaches in the world located in the Hicacos peninsula in Matanzas. It is just at 100 km away from Havana. This is the biggest and famous seaside resort of the West Indies due to the transparency and little depth of the waters jointly with the fine and white sand. This nature goodness is combined with tourist facilities where scuba-diving zones, restaurants, nightclubs and golf course predominate. Moreover, do not miss the opportunity to enjoy nature, to enjoy around 10 virgin small islands, the bottom of the sea with 40 different species of coral, a diversity of fish, dolphins, lobsters, shrimps, crabs and 70 different species of molluscs.

Shooting out from the mainland, virtually the entire northern coastline of this slender, ruler-straight peninsula is a brilliant white sand beach, with the blues and greens of its calm waters, which fade in and out of one another, creating a stunning turquoise barrier between the land and the Florida Straits. To cap it off, because the peninsula rarely exceeds half a kilometer in width, the beach is never more than ten-minute walk away.

There are 5 specialized centers in scuba-diving: with a range of activities such as immersion in reefs, sunken ships, underwater photography and aquatic bikes. In La Laguna del Tesoro (“The Lagoon of the Treasure”) it is found in Guamá, which is a picturesque tourist center located in the peninsula of Zapata, one of the most popular attractions is the reconstruction of a life-size small village that belonged to the Tainos (the biggest indigenous group) . This group of sculptures was made by the artist Rita Longa, one of the best sculptresses in the island. Quite apart other attractions, is one of the biggest crocodile hatchery of the American continent.

Other of the greatest attractions in this area is the Bellamar Caves. Discovered in the XIX century, the caves of Bellamar figure today among the most visited places in the country, with near two kilometers of extension and composed by crystalline formations with great quantity of stalagmites and stalactites, in a group where its space rooms descend in search of the aquifer and they finish in lakes of crystalline waters.

It is impossible to describe all the marvels that you will find in Varadero. That only way you will come across them is simply coming and seeing with your own eyes all the beauty that this part of Cuba holds out just for you. Do not trust pictures, they will not give the real things, although these pictures will invite you to come. Cancun or Costa del Sol in Spain are pretty beaches; Varadero will have you breathless for sure. Spending some time here is just one of the best options that you may have while you are in Cuba during your holidays.
